- da novembre a marzo: 9.00-13.30
- da aprile a ottobre: 9.30-13.00 e 16.00-18.30

COME ARRIVARE: S.S. 7 in direzione Taranto seguendo le indicazioni “CEA/Centro Visite” (a 5 minuti da Matera). Il Centro visite dispone di un bus navetta per il transfert degli ospiti.
Established in 1990, the ‘Parco Regionale della Murgia Materana’ extends for about eight thousand hectares in the area between Matera and Montescaglioso.
Several species of plants grow in the park, such as the ilex, the pubescent oak, the hawthorn, the lentisk, the mock privet and the terebinth. There are also plants of mallow, thyme, mint and oregano.
The floral heritage is very rich. Thanks to a favourable environment, it includes species such as the ‘poenia’ (Paeonia officinalis), the ‘campanula pugliese’ (Campanula versicolor), the ‘scrofularia lucida’ (Scrophularia lucida), the sad stock and the ‘eliantemo jonico’ (Helianthemum jonium).
The presence of the asphodel, the flower which in Greek mythology was called ‘death flower’, is worth pointing out.
