The Manferrara wood extends for over 500 hectares on the outskirts of the town of Pomarico.

In the wood, it is possible to find several species of plants and trees ranging from the maple, the manna ash, the aleppo pine, the eglantine, the holly to undergrowth plants such as the myrtle, the lentisk, the butcher's broom and the hawthorn.

The territory is large and rich in fauna too.

In the maquis it is easy to find foxes, beech-martens, badgers, porcupines, vipers and several species of birds.
