Along a short stretch of coast, the calcareous mountain meets the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The rock face is overhanging the sea and has some small inlets with gravel beaches. Maquis is the prevalent vegetation.

On the calcareous rock face, in summertime, the bellflower (Campanula fragilis Cyr.) and some Aleppo pines grow.

Characteristics of this area are Indian fig trees, agaves, from their hard leaves textile fibres are made, and bougainvillea, with their spectacular blossoms.

This area is being reforested through the introduction of coniferous (pines, cypress), because of the many fires and arsons that in summertime destroy the mountain woods.
