This village, clearly characterised by the features of a mediaeval centre, used to belong to Castelluccio Superiore, from which it was released in 1813. Over the centuries, this area was dominated by the Sanseverino, the Palmieri, the Ciciniello and the Pescara di Diano families.
Inside the Main Church of San Nicola, in Baroque style and built on a previous mediaeval structure, a wooden choir is kept together with a baptismal font and some other wooden works.
The Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie was built in the XVII century. Inside it, there is a statue of the Madonna dating from 1612 and some canvases of the Neapolitan School of the XVII century.
In the area around the Ditch of San Giovanni, there used to be several industrial structures started by hydraulic machines. Amongst them, there were a spinnery and a water mill dating from last century. In both structures all the machines can still be found: millstones, hoppers and sifter.
