The origins of this village date around the year 1000. Later on, it belonged to Rivello that was ruled by the Benedictines of Lauria. Its original name was ‘Bosco’ and it got to have its independent Town Council only in 1833, with its present name.
In the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, protector of this village, there is a wooden statue of the Madonna dating back to the XIV century and a stoup of 1512.
Not far from the village there is the Sirino Lake, at the foot of Serra Roccazzo.
The area around this village is rich in rural settlements and cultivation. The handcraft of wrought iron, copper and wood is well developed.
