Commune in the province of Potenza

Until 1965, this village was part of Ripacandida. It was built in the upper basin of the Forra di Arcidiaconata. Its name comes from the plant of broom that grows all around.

The centre is known as Longobardamassa. It was destroyed by the Normans and was later, from 1482 to 1515, inhabited by several families of Albanian origin, who brought several cultural traditions, such as their dialect and their typical costume.

The Main Church, or Church of San Nicola, was built in the XVI century, while the Church of the Madonna di Costantinopoli was built in 1588. Inside it, there is a beautiful painting of the Madonna.

In this area cereals, olives and vines are cropped.
